A lifetime of music

I grew up surrounded by music. Music was in our house, in my community, and certainly in my church. I started lessons as a child, not because it was assumed, but because I wanted it.

"You're gonna have to practice," my mother said. "I know. I will!" I replied.

So I practiced. I decided to pursue music in college. This is where I learned to play jazz.  I decided I wanted to teach music, so I earned my master's degree in music theory as a teaching assistant.

After grad school, I found a wonderful job in a large church as an arranger, orchestrator, organizer, rehearsing volunteers, and playing in weekly services. It was so much fun!

Years after being in full time church ministry, I continue to play today, capitalizing on the education, experience, and camaraderie of working with other talented musicians.

These experiences continue to push me to be a better musician, deliver memorable moments, and provide professional musical products whenever I can.

I enjoy performing as a soloist, and I also enjoy working with many talented musicians in the Raleigh area. My musical network is rich. I can piece together just about any combination of instrumentalists and vocalists!
